2025 Thriving Generations Grants
Senior Citizen Centers are a vital part of every community and one of the most widely used services among Montana’s older adults. Research shows that older adults who participate in senior center programs can manage and delay the onset of chronic disease and experience measurable improvements in their physical, social, spiritual, emotional, mental, and economic well-being.
There are over 75 senior citizen centers in Montana. Depending on location, they provide services such as:
- Meals and nutrition programs
- Health, fitness, and wellness programs
- Transportation services
- Volunteer and civic engagement opportunities
- Social and recreational activities
- Educational and arts programs
- Out-of-facility trips
- Support groups
To maintain operations, senior citizen centers must leverage resources from a variety of sources, most relying on three to eight different funding sources. Primary funding sources are often local tax levies. Other sources include fundraising events, public and private grants, business, bequests, participant contributions and foundation grants.
In 2025, The Town Pump Charitable Foundation will be providing one-time funding to Montana Senior Citizen Centers. These grants can be used for repairs and maintenance, programing costs, equipment replacement, and other services determined by the local board of directors.
Grant applications were accepted from February 17, 2025 through March 31, 2025 with grants awarded on May 1, 2025.
