The Town Pump Charitable Foundation was established in 1999 with the mission of providing financial support to Montana charitable or governmental organizations with a priority of supporting/meeting basic needs and education for Montana citizens.

Education

Children are our future! At Town Pump we recognize the importance of supporting

Montana schools in their efforts to provide quality-learning environments for our children.

Access to Food

Eighteen years ago, the annual “Be A Friend In Deed, Helping Those In Need” food bank fundraiser was started with two goals. First, to provide funds for food banks to help our hungry neighbors and second, to raise awareness of hunger in Montana.

Programs

These are a few of our most recent programs. Each and every year, we help fund hundreds of programs across the state, involving people of every age, interest and need.

SUMMER READING PROGRAMS

In the summer months, schools and public libraries across the state conduct summer reading programs to help the students retain their reading skills. We support these summer reading programs in communities statewide each year.

MEALS FOR BACKPACKS PROGRAM

The Town Pump Charitable Foundation invited charitable organizations & schools to apply for the Meals for Backpack grant to provide nutritious and easy to prepare meals for weekends and holidays when children are not in school. Through the Town Pump Charitable Foundation, 90 backpack programs in 73 Montana communities were funded with grants totaling $560,000!

MONTANA EDUCATION GRANTS

A quality learning experience not only includes the basics of “readin’, writin’ and ‘rithmetic” but also music, art, science, drama, athletics and computer technology. The Town Pump Charitable Foundation provides grants to schools for a variety of programs that might not have adequate funding, including
Close-Up, summer reading programs, field trips, etc. Through our corporate giving, we support Newspapers In Education, Booster Clubs, Chemical-Free Senior Graduation Parties, After-Prom Parties, and many other extracurricular activities.

ANNUAL ADOPT A FAMILY PROGRAM

The Town Pump Charitable Foundation invited charitable organizations to apply for an Adopt A Family grant through the Christmas Giving Program. Thanks to many caring volunteers across Montana, we awarded 118 organizations $108,000 in 2022!

FOOD BANK FUNDRAISER

Town Pump understands a food bank does not keep its doors open through food donations alone. This is why we have committed to bring much needed cash funds to assist with expenses such as building rent, utilities, purchasing bulk food items and perishable food including meat, produce, dairy and bread. All the funds raised, including the matching funds, are used locally in the communities where the funds were collected.
