Annual Food Bank Campaign

Annual Food Bank Campaign

2024 Food Bank Campaign - 23rd Year

For the 23rd year in a row, in the fall of 2024, Town Pump locations will be collecting donations that will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Town Pump Charitable Foundation and then go directly to assist local food banks with feeding their neighbors locally in their communities.

Our goal in 2024 is to raise $1.1 MILLION for local food banks, with $1.1 million in matching grants available from the Town Pump Charitable Foundation.

We look forward to working together with our customers again to improve the lives of our friends and neighbors in Montana!

2023 Annual Food Bank Campaign

Town Pump Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce the success of its 22nd annual "Be A Friend in Deed, Help Those in Need" campaign, which concluded in November 2023. Through the dedication of our team members and the generosity of our customers, players, and guests, the campaign raised a record-breaking $428,407 for local food banks across 47 Montana communities.

2023's total represents an increase of $102,915 (32%) over the 2022 campaign, demonstrating the unwavering commitment of Montanans to combatting hunger in their communities. The funds raised will provide critical support to food banks, allowing them to continue their vital work of distributing food to individuals and families in need.

According to the Montana Food Bank Network, every dollar donated can provide up to five meals. This means that the donations collected through this year’s campaign will translate to over two million meals for Montana residents facing hunger.

The Town Pump Charitable Foundation is proud to partner with the Montana Food Bank Network and other hunger relief organizations to make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our team members, customers, players, and guests for making this year's campaign such a success.

We look forward to continuing our fight against hunger in Montana through future "Be A Friend in Deed" campaigns and other charitable initiatives

In 2022, Montana showed up BIG again for food banks

Every October 1st, Town Pump Team Members across Montana come together to help raise funds for their local food banks. Team members ask our very generous customers, players, and hotel guests if they would like to donate a dollar or two to the local food bank as part of the “Be A Friend in Deed, Help Those in Need” campaign.

Every year, we are inspired by the response from our customers. We have received donations for amounts from $1 up to $5,000! THANK YOU!

Every dollar donated is forwarded to the local food banks, food pantries, and soup kitchens in the communities in which they were received. There are no restrictions on how the food banks use these funds — the local boards make these decisions.

In 2022, through your generosity, over $325,000 was raised.

20th Anniversary in 2021

For 20 years now annually on October 1st, Town Pump team members across Montana have began asking our very generous customers, casino players, and hotel guests if they would like to make a donation to their local food bank as part of the “Help Those in Need” campaign.

The response from our team members and customers is truly inspiring, but in Montana, that is to be expected. We have received donations from $1 dollar up to several hundred dollars.

All of these donations are forwarded to the food banks, food pantries and soup kitchens in the communities in which they were received in. There are no restrictions on how the food banks use these funds; the local boards make these decisions.

In 2021, through the generosity of Town Pump customers $456,439 was raised statewide!

2020 Annual Food Bank Campaign

On Thursday October 1, 2020 Team Town Pump began our 19th year of partnering with food banks across the state of Montana to raise funds through the “Be a Friend in Deed, Help Those in Need” campaign. Our partnerships with food banks allows us to support our friends and neighbors dealing with food insecurity.

The Town Pump Charitable Foundation has a commitment to meeting the basic needs of our Montana neighbors. Assisting our local food banks, soup kitchens and rescue missions with providing needed food is the highest priority of the Charitable Foundation.

Since the coronavirus started to impact our lives in mid-March, many more of our neighbors are turning to food banks for help. The number of households served by food banks between March and May increased by 37.8% to 70,400 over the same time period last year.

In early April, our food bank partners told us of the surge in demand they were experiencing. To help meet the immediate needs of the food banks, the Town Pump Charitable Foundation made emergency grants totaling $1 million dollars in early April. These were direct grants with no matching funds required. For many food banks, this funding arrived just in time.

Our mission is to help Montana food banks so they can assist Montanans in need in their communities.

For 19 years, Town Pump has worked with food bank partners across the state to help raise awareness about food insecurity in Montana and to assist the food banks in raising much-needed dollars.

Town Pump understands that a food bank does not keep its doors open through food donations alone. That is why we have committed to bring much needed financial assistance for expenses such as building rent, utilities, bulk food purchases, and purchasing perishable food items including meat, produce, dairy and bread. Decisions on how the cash is spent is left to local volunteer boards.

Working with 98 Montana food banks, the Town Pump Charitable Foundation provided matching grants totaling $780,000. In addition, $410,000 was donated by Town Pump’s generous customers at Town Pump stores, casinos, and hotels. All funds raised, including matching funds, are used in the community where the funds were collected.

Through the 2020 campaign, a total of $1.2 million was donated by Town Pump and its generous customers.

“Be A Friend In Deed, Helping Those In Need” is an outstanding program. The Havre Food Bank continues to feed hungry families and your support lets us continue to serve our community. This program continues to inspire the community to provide the match to match your donation.”
